Karen is a Human Resources, executive search, and recruiting professional with over 20 years of experience. Beginning in the private sector- where she worked on recruiting, workforce development, and employee retention initiatives (in the high-tech, internet start-up, healthcare, consulting , and consumer packaged goods sectors)- Karen then found her passion for service oriented work.   

Recruiting at all levels of staff, Karen has placed executive directors, subject matter experts in highly specialized fields, administrative support staff, and everything in between.  She is happy to provide one-off search services, but most enjoys building long term relationships with clients.  In that capacity she  can serve as the go-to recruitment expert who can draw upon a deep knowledge of organizational history, culture, and expectations to help clients build high functioning and cohesive teams.

Karen has provided pro-bono consulting services to various non-profits through the Taproot Foundation and Social Venture Partners.  She served as a grantee liaison to a Cambodian based social enterprise through Pangea (a Seattle based giving circle), and is a member of the Washington Women’s Foundation. She also has provided career counseling services to private clients since 2001.

Since then she has worked exclusively with foundations, non-profits, and NGO’s in the Seattle, Puget Sound, and San Francisco Bay Area.  She provides customized search services that match the client’s needs and resources.


Karen has her Bachelors Degree in English from Saint Michael’s College and completed Masters work in Career Development at JFK University.
